About
About Brian
Automation & AI engineer. I make small-business tools talk to each other.
I’m Brian, an engineer based in Quy Nhon, a coastal city in central Vietnam.
I started out writing scripts to save myself time. Then I started doing it for other people. Most of my clients own small and mid-sized businesses, so far mostly in New Zealand and the US, and I’m happy to work with teams anywhere. They’re busy, their team is small, and their tools don’t talk to each other.
Many came to me after another freelancer couldn’t finish the job: the platform had no API, the system was obscure, or the edge cases kept breaking things. That’s the work I like. Over 4,500 hours on Upwork, I’ve kept a 100% Job Success score and Top Rated Plus status. One client has worked with me for more than five years.

How I work
Timezone
I work on UTC+7. That overlaps the New Zealand and Australian afternoon. Everything runs in writing, so for Europe, the UK and the US you send something in your evening and wake up to an answer.
Prototype first.
You try a working version on sample data before paying anything, then we build and improve it with your team.
In writing.
Plans, updates and questions all come in writing, so you can reply when it suits you. Calls are optional.
Low cost to run.
I pick the cheapest tool that does the job well, often one you already pay for.
Yours to keep.
The code, the accounts and the data are in your name. You get notes and a short video, not a black box.
